Chris Herbert, UC Santa Barbara graduate and CEO and co-founder of TrackR, the Santa Barbara-based pioneer of item tracking platforms, has a vision to automate the way that people keep track of their belongings.
When Herbert almost lost his car to the Pacific Ocean in 2009 because his keys were buried in the sand as the tide rose to swallowing heights, he knew there needed to be a new way to locate items and set out to design a solution.
From humble beginnings to selling more than 5 million devices worldwide, Herbert has ed the TrackR team and is credited as a leader in the IoT revolution.
With an expertise in crowdfunding, Herbert has effectively raised more than $2 million via Indiegogo campaigns and approaches each campaign as a way to gather feedback in order to refine and create products that truly improve users’ daily lives.
As the Santa Barbara-based startup continues to grow, the focus of TrackR remains - totransfer the location database of valuables from people’s heads to their phones,
allowing them to focus on the things in life that will evolve us as a community, ratherthan spending valuable time looking for lost items.
